How the water-fed pole
system actually works.

Most homeowners have only ever seen a bucket, a squeegee and a ladder. What we bring to your home is a different category of tool entirely: a portable water purification plant feeding a carbon-fiber pole. Here is the whole system, explained plainly — no marketing fluff.

The one idea everything is built on

Tap water is not just water. It carries dissolved minerals — calcium, magnesium, silica, salts. When ordinary water dries on glass, the water evaporates and those minerals stay behind. That white haze and those hard little dots are the minerals, not dirt.

Strip every dissolved solid out of the water and something useful happens: the water becomes aggressively "hungry." Pure water is a natural solvent that actively pulls dirt, pollen and film off the glass — and because there is nothing dissolved in it, when it evaporates it leaves absolutely nothing behind. No soap film. No mineral spots. No squeegee lines.

Three stages from tap water to 0 PPM

Stage 1 — Sediment & Carbon Pre-Filters

City water arrives carrying rust, silt, chlorine and fine particulate. The first two cartridges strip sediment down to 5 microns and pull out chlorine, which would otherwise destroy the delicate membrane downstream. This is purely protection — but it's what keeps the rest of the system producing pure water for years instead of weeks.

Stage 2 — Reverse Osmosis Membrane

Water is forced under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane with pores measured in ten-thousandths of a micron. Dissolved calcium, magnesium, sodium and silica — the minerals responsible for every water spot you've ever seen — cannot pass through, and are flushed away as waste. Roughly 90–98% of total dissolved solids are removed here.

Stage 3 — Deionization Resin Polish

Whatever survives RO is caught by a mixed-bed DI resin that exchanges the last remaining ions for pure H₂O. The output is tested with a TDS meter before every job. We do not start cleaning until the reading is 000 parts per million — literally zero dissolved solids.

Why 0 PPM matters: at even 10 parts per million you will see faint spotting once the sun hits the glass. We meter the output before the first window and swap resin the moment it climbs.
The delivery system

Carbon-fiber poles, feet on the ground.

Purified water is pumped from the tank, up through the hose, and out through jets at the head of a telescopic carbon-fiber pole. A soft brush at the head agitates the glass and — critically — the frames, sills and the top edge of the window where grime collects and later runs down onto clean glass. The operator stands on the lawn the entire time.

    The pole extends section by section until the brush head sits flush against the top pane.

    Jets flood the glass with pure water while the brush loosens film, pollen and insect debris.

    Frames, sills and seals are scrubbed — the parts a squeegee physically cannot reach from a ladder.

    A final pure-water rinse sheets the water off the glass; it dries on its own with nothing left behind.

Inside: professional squeegees

Water-fed poles are an exterior tool. Indoors we work the traditional craftsman way — professional brass squeegees with fresh rubber, low-suds solution, microfiber detailing and scrim on the edges. Floors and sills are covered and towel-protected before a drop of water touches them. It is the method that has cleaned glass beautifully for a century, and for interior work nothing beats it.

Why this is safer

Ladder falls are the single largest source of injury in this trade, and a ladder leaning on your gutters, siding or window frames is a real risk to the house too. Working from the ground removes both. No ladder marks on the siding, no boots on the roofline, no one balancing three stories up over your landscaping.

Common questions

The windows look wet when you leave — is that normal?

Yes, and it's the point. Pure water is left to sheet off and evaporate. Because there are no dissolved solids in it, the glass dries completely clear within an hour or so. Wiping it would only reintroduce lint.

Do you use any soap or chemicals outside?

No. Pure water alone does the work outside. That means nothing running into your landscaping, no residue on siding, and nothing harmful around pets or children.

What about heavy build-up, paint specks or hard water stains?

Those need dedicated treatment. We inspect first and quote mineral-stain removal or scraping separately rather than pretending a rinse will fix it.

Does it work in Minnesota weather?

Comfortably through the warm season, and in cooler shoulder months we adjust scheduling around freezing temperatures so water never sets on the glass.
